I woke up today to a lot of updates on what is happening with my debut single, “Chain Breaker”. For the third week in a row at radio, “Chain Breaker,” continues to hold the No. 1 spot of the Christian AC Indicator chart, it has climbed into top 5 on the Christian Airplay chart and has also been the top-selling single on the iTunes Christian Songs chart for the past few weeks. As a former rocker-turned Christian Music Artists, it shocked me to learn that “Chain Breaker” is also No. 15 on Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart, along artists like twenty one pilots, Coldplay, Kings Of Leon and Blink-182.
WAY-FM has supported the single from the beginning and it was an honor to have the music video for “Chain Breaker” exclusively debuted on their website last week. The insane amount of support and interest it garnered actually temporarily broke down their server and Zach Boehm from WAY-FM Nashville jokingly said in response to the crash, “Zach Williams may be able to add ‘Web Breaker’ to his resume!” My buddy, who has a great name by the way, also informed me that the music video is deeply resonating with their listeners. “The number of people who are sharing this with friends, saying that ‘I need people in my life to hear this song,’ is remarkable. The video is just so powerful and so well done.”
I co-wrote “Chain Breaker” with Jonathan Smith and Mia Fieldes and it came from a place of wanting to reach people who are struggling. It speaks to believers as much as it does to non-believers because we all get to places in our lives where we get lukewarm and we just kind of forget what God’s done in our life. The song is very much just the truth of who Jesus is.
This song continues to grow a fan base, with support pouring out from artists such as Chonda Pierce and Chris Tomlin. Tomlin even tweeted, “….So so good. Loving hearing it all over radio. Zach, love your voice and this song.” I got to meet Chris shortly after he sent out that tweet while at CMB/Momentum in Orlando and I thanked him for his support (while comparing our height difference).
You can now get the Chain Breaker EP digitally at iTunes and Apple Music while Physical copies are for sale on the website as well as on all the fall tour dates. The EP, has bee a consistent top 10 seller on iTunes’ Christian Albums and is now charting at No. 3. The single continues its stay at No. 1 at iTunes, and the single is also currently featured at the top of Apple Music’s A-List Christian playlist.
As you can see, there’s been a mass amount of stuff going on in a short amount of time and I am overwhelmed by God’s provision. Thank you for supporting the song, the EP, and the music video.
